Launched out of Atlantic City - on the water about 11;30 am - mostly sunny, temps in the low '70's, water temp 64.
First trip out this year on the lake with the wife & kids - two little girls. Mostly out for a picnic, set them up with their little Zebcos (Snoopy & Sponge Bob) - soaking night crawlers under slip bobbers, just north of Coulon - let the wind blow us North toward Mercer Is. 7 yr old was fishing about 20 ft down, had something big slam her line - drag on those cheapo kids rods suck, broke off. Switched to a "better" quality rod/reel combo and WHAM she got a really nice 3lb Cutt. Changed the 9 yr olds set up to the same depth & BANG - popped an even bigger fish, didn't scale it, was better than 20", got pics - looked to be close to 4 lbs.
Got 4 Cutt's total in about 1 1/2 hrs of fishing - C & R everyone of them. Tried trolling a Rapala on the 'rigger, got a nice fat little Smallie close to the Mill.
Off the water by 3:00 pm - great day - caught those fish in the middle of the afternoon - go figure.
