man what a day for fishing . Really wet and a little chilly , just the way i like it in the great northwest.Me and my pal tried the fly with a worm . Then put on white and orange/ red power bait nothing . later found a school at 13' and tried to get jiggy wit it ,but no avail. Oh well a bad day on the water is better than a good day in the world .Going back out sat. to somewhere in snohomish ct. to try something a lil differente .:-)

It is a little early for Haller lake, at least in my experience. If you were targeting trout it hasn't come up on the planting schedule so far. But check the schedule after each weekend, because the State is doing their plants regularly now. Haller has some nice LMB in it for a little urban lake. Go back through last summer's reports and see when a friend and I were hitting it with success. I can say that it was best probably July and August. Hopefully you are on the water and not at the park. You should slowly fish all the lilly pad fields and docks. 5" dark colored Senkos did best for me, or top water frogs. Thanks for the report on this little lake.

Yeah i thought it was early too ,but my friend lives right around the corner so we tried it . I have talked to a few people over time and they all told me it holds some nice bass. I would have tried a jig with a grub or my new crawdad lure on bottom BUT my friend acts like a chick and when he gets cold he sounds like a three year old ,lol, anyways will post something tomorrow night after going back out.:-)

I've had good luck in Haller and near by Bitter Lake in late spring and summer for trout and bass. A Rooster Tail in Bitter Lake was deadly for trout and a drop shot rig was the ticket for bass. Drop shot also worked well in Haller, my float tube was all I needed to get to the fish.
