Started out trying to get those Bar fish to bite with no luck for 2 passes which took about an hour. Then I was planning to give the indeterminate flat between the Bar and Minneapolis Beach. We got into them early and often. Not clumps or bunches of fish, but scattered fish that were willing to bite. Loads of nice quality fish. We lost plenty too, but still ended with 18. Big fish was 9. Jerry Gange of Yakima and his buddies were great company. All very experienced fishermen and lots and lots of jokes delivering "the business". The weather was cool and dreary, but the fishing was hot and the company was excellent.

We pounded that flat with a 4 rod array. U20 flatfish in purple glow were the hot item off the downriggers. The purple glow Rushin' Salmon Wobbler worked off of one outrigger and the orange Splatterback Kingfisher Lite spoon by Silver Horde pounded 'em off the other. Each lure got 4 or 5 fish and lost one or two others. Those fish came from as shallow as 175 feet to as deep as 219. Speed was best from 1.2 to 1.5 mph. The day was unusual in being so balanced from rod to rod and that the bite was so steady. No real extended lulls and no super "hot" periods. For the 6 hours or so that we fished it, we averaged about a bite every 15 minutes. This is a real transition from the previous month or so.
