Some friends of ours have a cabin on Fish Lake, and were so generous as to invite us up for the weekend. We arrived around noon, and were fishing by 1230 or so. The perch are still active, on pretty standard perch gear for ice fishing. Between about 4 of us we ended up with about 60 all told. I say "about 4 of us" because one of our friends came down with the flu pretty bad during the afternoon. Must have been a bad deal because it would be tough to leave in the middle of a trip. Anyway, we had a great time enjoying the day, with the kids catching a few fish and having a ball with what is still full-on winter at Fish Lake. We also had excellent tacos (including fish tacos) and salad for dinner! The ice is still fishable, but take snowshoes or skis....6 inches of slush covered by 6 inches of snow.
