Fished the Big Pond with friend Dave on the good boat "Puffin," a 17-ft. Boston Whaler. Man, was the weather hot! Drove us off the Lake by noon. Started fishing right north of SR-520 bridge and ended up at the "orphanage hole." Trolled at 45 to 50 feet with spinner and worm behind gang troll or small dodger. Marked a ton of sockeye on the Lowrance. Around 9:30am the fishing began to heat up too. After we boated three cutthroat, I pulled in a jumping rainbow on a double whammy wedding ring spinner. Dave followed up with another nice 'bow on a spinner he had made. Each fish weighed in at 4 lbs. Made for a great morning as we watched those less fortunate slogging their way across the bridge to work. Postscript: My log shows that the last time Dave and I fished together was July 18, 1982. We, along with my wife and a fisheries friend, pulled a limit of sockeye from the Lake using U-20 flatfish. Dave, we have to do this more often!
