Launched about 8 am, first boat on the water, trolled in front of the creek mouth then out to the weather bouy with no bites over a 4 hour period, got pretty windy and my battery was dead, had to row into a stiff headwind for the last 30 minutes. I love being out on Lake Sammamish, but can't seem to talk anyone into sitting in my barely seaworthy row boat. Feeling like having one lure in the water is killing me. I tried needlefish in firetiger from 10 to 25 feet deep, tipped with a worm, fished behind a dodger, without a dodger, wedding ring red with night crawler tipped. Nothing seemed to work. Didn't even bother trying the Brads cut plug lures today, total loss of confidence. Beautiful morning with the dog on the water, but no fish is frustrating, hopefully as the weather warms so will my luck. How did everyone else do, there was a half dozen guys out there, hopefully someone caught fish. I have no electronics so I am guessing what depths to fish, any tips on what depth to fish at, the wedding rings I tend to just drift with some split shot to get it down a few feet, the needlefish I will run off my downrigger. Posted this on saturday, weather supposed to be nice tomorrow, maybe I get out there. Does anyone routinely fish the north end of the lake? If so, where have guys found fish up there?

When we had our day of limits we got most of our fish off the top, with no riggers. We also didn't use a flasher with the needlefish, try just using a trolling rudder with the needlefish behind it, no weight. We did also get quite a few bites on the smiley bladed wedding ring, tipped with a half a nightcrawler. You are a brave man with the row boat. It can get reeeeeeally windy on Sammamish. One more hint...There is a section with dead trees and shade trees along the shoreline where we started, across from the house with the seaplane. We circled that area all day and killed it.

Where did you put in tprusell? At the state park? My Dad lives next to Idylwood park at the north end, I am thinking of parking my rowboat there and avoiding the crowds at the state park. Do you know if there is good cutt fishing up there? I archery hunt elk in hike in only areas because I don't like crowds, that being said, I still haven't killed an elk with a bow, but I also don't see other hunters. Even if I didn't catch as many fish I could avoid the bumper car fishing that the south end is turning into. Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it.
