No luck no sfish. Was casting a brass little cleo and a kastmaster, but on'y got one bump from a lazy fish. However, I did see a giant dead catfish on the shore in some grass, probably about five pounds. I'd heard there were catfish in the lake, but I thought they were just brown bullheads or something, not a big channel cat like this. I wonder if somebody caught it and let it go, or if the cold got to it, or what? It'd been eaten by birds, but it didn't smell and wasn't rotten. Anybody know about these things? Because I'm going to try and find 'em now, that is if they all didn't die already.

Hard to say what happened to it. Catfish are tough, though. They'll easily survive the winter. We used to catch them on live minnows under tip-ups while ice fishing in PA. During the summer we'd find shallow, sandy/muddy areas and catch them at night with things like shrimp and crawlers. They're both great fighters and eaters!

Yea, I read on friendsofgreenlake that they had catfish, I didn't know they were still around. I know they had tiger musky in there at one point, but from what I can tell the last time they planted them was so long ago that they are probably gone from old age. There's so many weird kinds of fish in this lake, even giant goldfish! You never know what's still swimming around in there. I'm gonna try and catch one of those cats now though, because they're delicious!

Nate, You wanna see a Catfish like nothing you can imagine, from Greenlake?? Go to the greenlake reports. Search back to a report from Oct 23 2006. MONSTER CATFISH, GREENLAKE! It is such an awesome photo I keep it on my computers at work also, lol.

i thought all of the channel cats would be gone by now. It would be great if it was stocked again with catfish. Nice monster cat Quad.

Holy Craleedo Quad! That fish was HUGE! It's gotta be thirty years old or something! Wow, from greenlake? If there are any fish in there still, I'm gonna find 'em. Wow.
