We arrived to the ramp about 9:00, unloaded quickly and started to head towards the weather station. About 30 seconds out the motor started to have problems and we realized we didn't gas up! As we sputtered and the engine kept dying we had another boat pass by that we were able to wave over...sure enough as soon as they got over to us the motor started working. We headed in to get gas, not taking any chances, and were back on the water in twenty minutes. We headed down to the weather station again and it was BEAUTIFUL out! Beautiful but freezing cold...We got to the weather station and started trolling wedding rings with worms between 10 and 20 and a needlefish on top off the back. (I forgot to mention there was three of us.) About two minutes into our troll we had our first take on the needlefish. It continued to be the producer all day between numerous short strikes and many cutts brought to the boat. The most excitement came when we had a double going, and then with another short strike on the third we thought we may have turned it into a triple! We released the last two tiny ones caught with the needlefish and ended our day with 14, one short of our limit. We could have easily had a few more hours to fish but we were freezing by then and decided to call it a day. Overall a great day fishing in beautiful weather with great friends. Can't ask for anything better, so I rated it a 5. All the cutts were bright, had nice pink meat, and should smoke up real nice!
