Randy Cole and Lori Kratzer of Yakima were nice enough to fish with us today. They thought Andy was great. They were grateful the sleepy fish woke up at about 9:30, just the way Andy predicted. Randy said his arms will hurt tomorrow!

They pounded the trench again with those Chartreuse splatterback Kingfisher Lite spoons. Depths from 170 all the way out to 240 feet deep. The fish were more scattered than yesterday and not nearly as eager to bite. But, all in all, it was a great late February day of fishing.

Nice row of fish. Are you using any types of flashers or dodger when you troll the lures? Thanks for posting.

Hi:
Hi Dan:

No flashers or dodgers in front of spoons or flatfish. We'll stick an action disk by wigglefin.com in front of Ace Hi Flies and B2 squid rigs. Sometimes we'll stick a small dodger in front of a B2 squid rig. Attractors will work, but they create a lot of drag that is magnified because of the great depths that we fish at. They also deaden what action you get from the smaller fish that will not let you feel what the fish does. That creates pull that yanks the hooks out of lightly hooked fish. That's babblin' a bit, but it explains the attractor basic does and don'ts.
