Everyone i talk to tells me theres no fish in this bog but i decided to try it out a few years ago and my first time there i caught over 30 blue gills, 2 catfish and a tiny smallmouth bass. This place is a hidden gem. Seems like the best time to fish is early afternoon and bites seem to stop around sundown. For bait I use the smallest worms i can find, Nothing seems to bite on the west side of the bog but if you go to the bench on the east side and cast toward the fallen down tree to your left thats the best spot in the lake, if you just want to catch bluegills/pumpkinseeds toss your line about 5 feet infront of you underneath the overhanging tree by that bench, its prety much certain you will get a few. Downside- There's a lot of sticks/logs and plastic bags among other things in this bog, so you'll probly have a pile of them by the time you leave..

Appreciate the report on this little oddity of a lake. Can you clarify if this is a current report? The date is set for Nov 30 2010,, Bluegill, pumpkin seed are typically a warmer time of year fish. I am assuming that you didn't fish it just this week??

I used to fish this lake when I was a kid. We caught cats, almost year round in fact, but they never got any size, maybe 10". There were a few carp but never a smallie or bluegill, maybe a "private" stocking. We always did best at the N end of the lake, but, again thats when I was a kid, I imagine things change in 30 years.

haha, yeah i love this little Bog, it's quiet, hardly anybody even uses the park/field - i'm excited now, catfish? i had no idea, i did catch a few lmb (of very small size) There's tons of bait fish swimming around the shallows, so i imagine if you know where to fish, you'd do ok. Thanks for the report.

I also fished Ronald Bog as a kid and grew up just about a mile east of the lake on 15th Avenue in Shoreline. I never caught much there but it brings back great memories.
