Hit Upper Twin Lake at 10:00 am, for the first time ice fishing with my brother-in-law on my birthday. Had great fishing this fall for crappie. We were going for some of the big pike we had heard stories about. We met a nice fisherman who had a friend land a 20lb pike on Monday in 2 feet of water right by a dock by the launch. We headed straight across the lake from the launch. Drilled about 7 holes for our tipups and my brother-in-law was dropping his smelt down and bam!!! Fish on!!! 4lbs and released. 7 tipups were all set and no other bites the rest of the day for pike. Other fisherman we spoke with said fishing was slow. Must have been the sunny nice weather we had. We jiged for some perch with eyes and managed just 5 small in 8-10 feet of water. Ice is about 10 inches thick and in great shape. Looking for some other Idaho reports from Fernan, Hayden or Hauser. Go Pack!!!!
