Fished Sprague for the third time this year...first two trips yielded one nice walleye (back in early May) and one 5lb tench (Late May). I must admit that the walleye fishing in Sprague this year has been a challenge. Three years ago I would have 15-20 fish days with the majority of those fish being 19+ inches. I really think this lake is over fished and unfortunately most of the fisherman do not practice catch and release. I also feel very few follow the size restrictions. I have talked with quite a few anglers at the launch which has indicated this. I have also watched fish caught and kept that were obviously under the 16" mark. I long for the "old days" when everyone fished trout/salmon/steelhead and looked on the walleye as a scrap fish. Now that most realize how great eating they are and fun to catch the fishing pressure has increased considerably. Anyway, good luck and practice CATCH & RELEASE!
