Today was my first time fishing for cutthroat on Sammamish (I fished for smallmouth there once about 20 years ago). I fished from around 11-3pm and landed 4 trout. 20", 16" 15" and 8". Three larger fish all came on a fly rod, lead core line (2 colors out) with a small trolling spoon. I mainly trolled around the weather station alongside 12 other boats in the area.

After a windy, fruitless attempt last week for cutts on Lake Washington, it was fun to finally hook up a few fish. Hopefully I can get back out there soon.

Great, partly sunny day followed by a night of grilled fresh cutthroat trout, a side of homemade noodles, asparagus and mushrooms and a beer.

That is an interesting idea of using lead core line on a fly rod. I may have to hook mine up that way one day. Fly rods have such a different action to them, it would nice to hook into a 20" cutt. in such a way. I am about to head out the door for the lake... sound like this lake is starting to see it's fair share of boats, lol.
