Al went over to Roses to check the ice thickness and see how Pautzke's Fire Corn works on the Roses rainbows. The ice is thick enough. The Fire Corn worked great. Lot's of bites and a quick limit using a slip sinker rig with Fire corn at the pointy end.

Thanks for the report. I thought Roses Lake has 5 pound trout. Have you ever caught them at Roses?

No 5 pounders. Most fish are stocked at about 2.3 to 2.5 fish per pound. Most of the fish being caught were put in in November. There are hold overs from 15 to 20 inches. That's about 2.5 pounds at the upper end and very rare. Anton

Te Department of Fish and Wildlife, Chelan Hatchery do stock some Jumbo 3 plus lbers in Roses Lake..and the occasional 5 lber is caught just to Clarify...

They have it in Wenatchee at Hooked on Toys and locally in Kelly's Ace Hardware.
