Went to the lake today around 9am with 3 of my buddies from work. The ice was about 5 inches thick and very smooth. We fished all over the lake with alot of holes dug and did not have a bite all day. Had 5 poles fishing all day with different types of bait on each one. Any day of fishiing is a good one, the wind was blowing and most people think your crazy for doing it in this type of weather but all in all it was a great day being outdoors. Going to fish the Spokane river in the morning and then take the boat to Lake Roosevelt for some trolling the next day. We are on a fishing vacation for the next few days and will post reports each day.

Thanks for the encouraging news on the ice depth, even though you didn't get any trout. Really appreciate the report.

That's really unusual to not get anything at all. Usually you get limits of really nice ones. Just around the corner is Rock Lake if you've got a boat. Trolling just about anything there catches some nice rainbows and german browns. Thanx for the report!!!

I saw a group of 5 out on 4th of July ice fishing last Sunday at the "narrows" they had no bites, had been there for several hours.

You are right about rock lake, trolled there from 8-1 landed 10 fish, mainly rainbows, there were about 3 trailers in the parking lot when I got there and 8 when I left.
