Went out to Chapman for the 1st time this afternoon got there late 3:30 pm. it was cold a little windy and slight rain. having never fished here before I started trolling a red and black double hook wedding ring with a bit of worm on the top hook. Trolling the east side towards the north end and no action. Got to the end and made the turn towards the west bank when I saw a downed tree and headed towards it. I was using 2 rods and saw some action on one rod, so as I picked it out of the rod holder the other one went tip into the water. I dropped my rod and grabbed the downed rod and the fight was on. After several minutes i got the fish to the boat saw it and said holy bleep as it took off. My net was not ready and I had a big fish on, after much fumbleing I had the net ready all the while getting nervous about loosing this fish. After all was said and done I had it in the net in the boat and my heart was racing. I hung it on the scale 6lb rainbow trout. I almost did not go because of the weather but wil be there in the morning as this lake closes tomarrow. I was trolling wedding ring black and red with a pinch of worm and a 1/2 ounce weight 3 feet away.
