I haven't been to American lake in a while so I decided to give it a try again. I got to the lake around 8:00am and set out for the north side of the island. The first time through I was running a wedding ring in green and red tipped with worm. This got me two small bites but no good hookup.
After that I switched to a green dodger with pink and white mini hootchie tipped with worm. This proved to be the ticket today. Within 1/2 hour I had three kokanee in the boat for dinner. I decided to keep going without bait on the same setup and hooked and released three more within the next hour.
All were in the 12 to 14inch range and were fighting pretty good. All fish were caught in the 35 to 40' depth.
Had a pretty good day even with the rain. Will have to go again soon.
