Fished in the morning and had not much luck - just one little trout, almost looks like a steelhead smolt but at 4,100 ft not likely! Caught on a Fish Creek Spinner bronze spinner. No fish seen rising, no action on wooley buggers.

Vigorous hike! 8.9 miles RT, 2,300 ft of elevation gain. check out my Blog for details...

that's a gorgeous little fish, haven't seen big spots like those on a rainbow before.

Looks like a little cuttie to me? It is pretty well shaped/proportioned for its head size. Always nice to see in the higher elevation lakes.

Nice blog Mike! I'd love to get to some of those alpine lakes. Last summer my son and I backpacked to Dewey Lake. We caught some small brook trout. It was a blast! The perfect combo: hiking, camping, and fishing if you ask me....
