Dropped the boat in at Mercer Island launch at 7am. It was pretty nasty out being rainy and cold. Would have probably stayed home normally but decided to go anyhow and took a guy from work also. So I put up the bimini top and set off to the southern end of the Island. I was really excited when the first pole started shaking within the first 10 minutes of trolling. I got it close to the boat and realized it was a Northern Pikeminnow, which kinda deflated my excitment. I saved it for crab bait. for the next 3 hours we encountered strong winds with rain and couldn't make anything else happen. At one point our lines got crossed and I had a big twisted mess on my hands, with that and the weather I almost pulled all the gear up and went in. Sorted everything out and reset both rods at 30' as I was reeling in to tighten my pole in the clip it started shaking away .. and I boated a nice 17" cutt taken on a firetiger pattern apex with and a 6" white and green dodger with uv tape
It had pretty nice looking meat. good luck out there
