BUMMER!! I have been wanting to fish this lake for years and when we showed up and I saw the layout I was really excited, this might be the best looking bass lake I have ever seen! It has it all!! Then we got closer at the launch and it was pea soup with algae...CRAP!
We launched at the north end off of Albatross Rd. Tried that area for about an hour, nothing. Fished south for almost 3/4 of a mile with literally no bites at all! Finally my buddy broke the ice and hooked into a fingerling bass on a spinnerbait, pfff.
Then, the wind came on hard and we had to fight our way back to the launch with the trolling motor on high and a guy rowing! What a bummer, but I will absolutely be back, it just looks too dang good!! I will not fish this lake again without a boat equipped with a motor...a gas motor!! It's just too long and too many channels for a trolling motor to last very long, not to mention you're at the coast so you're bound to get wind at some point.
There are too very well kept boat launches we found and every type of bass cover you could want...see you next April Duck Lake!
