My friend and I tried another lake a little ways up the road called Maud, but when we didn't catch anything or see any signs of life, we headed down to McLeod. We were only on the water about 90 minutes but my waders were leaking and it was pretty miserable, I had on a size 12 prince nymph, and my buddy was fishing a size 16 pheasant tail. He caught 2 about 10 inches, and I got none. I've tried a lot of things on this lake without much luck, it just doesn't seem worth the effort for such small fish. Another guy was fishing little brown soft-hackles and caught about 5, including one which was around 16 inches, but I didn't have any to put on. The week before a buy caught a couple on chrinomid emerger in black. If you are going to fish this lake, bring lots of flies and be prepared to fish your brain out. A week before I talked to a guy who said he just used a size 18 adams and let it sit on the surface, I tried it but I didn't have much luck.
