Perch fishing has been excellent on Sawyer. I've been conducting a creel survey (to determine angler use and harvest) for the past 2 months and I just wanted to say thanks to bassination, rjn cajun, and fishingmachine for greeting me with a smile and cooperating with my efforts to learn more about the fishery. Also thanks to Clark Korper who let me take this picture of him with a 3 lb smallie he caught on a ....better not say. Anyway, I've enjoyed the time on the lake, and I look forward to fishing the lake next spring.

Tight Lines,
Danny Garrett

Danny it was nice talking to you and thank you for sharing all the things you did with our questions. I know we asked alot. Hope to see you and the other guy`s on the lake and the other local lakes doing research on warm water species. If we had more of them like you our lakes would be top notch and give them guy`s down south a run for there money. Thanks again

Dan, you have my interest in your surveying. Are you adopting Sawyer as a study or is this broader? Are you working by yourself or funded? Maybe we can get together and share some info as I have been doing fairly extensive research on one lake close to me. Thanks! Don ~ BMGW

Don,

I'm a WDFW biologist with the warmwater fish program, based out of Mill Creek. We have a lot of interest in angler use and harvest at many lakes around our region (King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom counties) and this year, we picked Lake Stevens and Lake Sawyer to conduct an intensive survey of fishing activity. I'm always interested to learn something new about local lakes, so feel free to call the office anytime.

Has anybody been catching any of the 90,000 Kokanee fry they planted in the lake? Seems like alot for amount of angler effort to catch them.
