Well, I had a nice day again at mountlake, I had the BBQ out, tried to sneak in a few Sam Adams, spoke to some cute ladies,(I really only wanted to kill time before the game started). The Highlight of the day was that the Boats/Ships/Canoes/Kayaks/Paddleboards/Dingies/Personal floatation devices were out in full force and I just happend to catch one today! It was a HUGE 50+ft. ship which just so happend to get within 20ft. of the shore (I bet his depth sensors were banging like pots and pans!) anyways, there were a few others there watching and I called it out "what is this guy doing? this guy is gonna run right over my line"...................Zweeeeeeeeee! drag started screaming! I pulled out the knife and cut it quick. @#&*($%^&!!!! that was brand new braided line, and expensive too, I lost about 150ft. The only thing that gave me a chuckle was when he gets to dock and has to untangle it from his screw!

I did however get ahold of a nice Smallmouth which I had to keep 'cause I got him deep inside and didnt want to risk throwing him back, plus THIS WAS MY BIGGEST AND BESTEST SMALLMOUTH!......EVAR!!!!
I know its not big but i'm a panfish guy, a little trout here, a little blugill there. Safe to say it is my personal best Smallmouth Bass. Well I gotta get to cleaning this fish and get some new line on my reel. Whew! I had alot of action today.........I'm tired!

dude, sorry to hear.. what an asshole driving his boat so close to shore. and i feel your pain, braided line is super expensive and 150 feet is more than a 500 yard spool of mono's worth gone.. but congrats on your personal best smallie, i'm sure you'll catch bigger before the seasons over :)

Thx bro!, I took a trip to outdoor emporium this morning and I there was a tent sale. Man, i was getting a hole burned in my pocket! I really want a new setup for bass fishing. needless to say by noon I already had the rig up and runnin' with some Fireline 30lb black, just to try out something new but by the looks of things it may actually be too heavy (0.36mm).

I think there is a health advisory in effect for consuming smallmouth out of Washington. I think in the reg books it states "Do not eat." for restrictions.... just FYI

Yes, there is a statewide mercury advisory with regards to large and smallmouth bass. For women who are or might become pregnant, nursing mothers and children it is suggested that consumption be limited to 2 meals per month. However there are no restrictions to the general population with regards to consumption, so feel free to take your limit of 10 smallies home and have a fry-out!
