Took our vacation this year at Silver Lake, fished from Aug 13 - Aug 19. Met a guy at the resort named John been fishing the lake for over 25 years. He was full of information on where to fish and what to use. If you stay at the resort make sure you ask for John. We caught fish each and every day, most were small under a pound, my largest Bass was 3 lbs using a crank bait off the rock just west of the resort about 6 am. My buddy Chuck got a 2 lb 11 oz Bass off the bank just north west of Goat island around 11 am. Most fish were caught between 5:30 am to 10 am and are hanging very close to the bank, this may because it was very sunny and hot no clouds. The water was warm 68 degrees and the first few day there was a algal bloom going on, County came out posted signs informing people to not swim in the lake because of it. All fish were released back into the water and not harmed.
