Decided to add one report for trout fishing as our group of 10+ people did a fair amount of it, although I targeted bass the whole weekend.
Because the water level is so much higher, the fish seem to be dispersed quite a bit, they aren't holding to the same predictable holes as years past, and are more spread out. The fish that are caught, are bigger than usual. In fact, I did not see a single 'stocker sized" trout caught. all were closer to that 16-18"+ range. the whole 5 or 6 days I was there I think I only saw 2 trout on stringers, and only heard of maybe 2 more caught total. In years past, everyone in a boat could get a limit within an hour in the right spots.
I saw people using every method they could think of for trout. One group found a hole about 300 feet off the dock at Shady Pines that "produced" but they still only pulled in 2 trout for a full day of fishing.
The bass fishing was pretty decent though.
