Took a nephew, who had never caught any bass of any significance, up to Chelan. Also took along some folks from the west side who only saltwater fish. We worked for a few hours to find the pattern of bass located off steep drop offs, then did real well. The bass were not around docks or near any shallow water, which was mostly 69 degrees. They were all near steep bluffs, with access to very deep water. We also had time to anchor up in some shallow areas and enjoy some swimming. One in our party caught a real monster....well over 5 pounds (my scale read 5 lb 14 oz, but it's a cheapy spring scale). Everyone had a great time on a typically beautiful summer day on Lake Chelan.
