I went out to the Fremont Channel today to explore the fishing areas. Unfortunately, I think I went out at about the worst time (3pm) because boats were really disrupting things up and down the channel ... not to mention it was really windy. I wound up only fishing for about 30 minutes around the Fremont bridge and caught two largemouth bass, both pretty small, using a crankbait tipped with worm. No photos because no size ... I think I might go there tomorrow morning to see how things shape up in better conditions. Any suggestions for where to fish the channel next time?

Walk and fish from the Fremont Bridge going West, for as far as you can access the water, it's quite a ways. I fish from the N. side, but either side is fine. I throw shallow diving crainkbaits usually. Also drop shotting. There a couple of areas on the N. Side of the Fremont Bridge right at the base of the bridge where you can pitch a drop shot down into some areas that are sort of behind pillings, like a little sanctuary. It's a little creepy and looks a little awkward to fish, but can be productive. There also is public access down in the newly built park area at the S. end of the lake near the Wooden boat center. Think South end and West Corner.

Thanks Quadfather. I actually pulled one of my bass out from that "creepy" area below the Fremont bridge ... I also know about the park on the south end of Lake Union but I have not gotten a chance to check it out ... I'll probably have to go there this week.
