Got on the lake around 9:30 & off around 5:00. Fished the million dollar mile east bank. First ever Walleye for my sons two buddies. A perch colorred baitfish blade & green or yellow beads with a night crawler caught perch, SMB & Walleye.
I'm sure we'd have been able to catch plenty more but, being summer, the boys let me burn 1/2 a tank of gas pulling them around on the tube for a couple hours. I didn't think I was going to get to fish at all in the afternoon. Finally they tired of tubing & I dropped them off on the shore. I was going to work the rocky shoreline for SMB while the boys streched thier legs. I looked to the South & it looked a little gray & the breeze was picking up. I missed a couple & C&R'D a couple SMB. I looked to the south again & it was darker. I picked up the boys & as the winds Whipped up we made a run for the launch. We got off the water as it got Ugly. The rains dumped & the thunder & lightning came on. We arrived at Big Wally's prior to the crowd. Between the time we orderred our burgers and left I think they had taken another 25 orders!
The boys caught fish, played in the water, conned dad into buying burgers & got to nap on the way home. It is a good life! Andy
