I'm finally in town for more than a few days, so I thought I'd grab the canoe and do a little fishing over the next few days. However, by the time I got my gear together and the canoe on top of the van it was already 6:30 so it had to be somewhere close to begin with and Stickney is right next door.
I dropped in and started out with a 3.5" rapala around the docks but decided within a few casts that it wasn't what I wanted so I switched to a 4" twin tail grub in watermellon w/red fleck. It was obviously a good call as the first cast produced the bucketmouth in the picture. I then proceeded to work the docks on the East side of the lake and produced two more smaller ones.
As the sun started to go down, I decided to switch back to the Rapala and troll for a bit. This produced my oddest catch, a 12" German brown. I had no idea they were in there.
I think this trip bodes well for the next couple of days.
