Went to Bonaparte for the weekend and stayed at the state park. Fished Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during every part of the day at some point. Weather was in the 80's most of the time with passing clouds. Started off with flatfish trolling the edge of the banks, but only caught one keeper the first two days, a brook trout. On the third day before leaving, fished the North end of the lake for a change but had similar success. Went back to the state park side of the lake and tried a green wedding ring tipped with corn with Indiana spoon and snubber. Trolled deep near where the creek exits and hooked into a fish. Didn't fight very well, but when I got it up next to the boat I was surprised to see a huge silver. Measured in at 18 inches. This is the biggest silver out of a lake I've ever seen. Caught one more average sized silver before we left. Wish we didn't have to leave before we figured out how to fish it, but what are you gonna do. All in all, a slow weekend but it was worth it for that one fish.
