Took my wife on a "date" to try for some walleye. Word was that the bite is hot. A weather swing from high pressure - extreme hot, to low pressure - windy, warm, turned the bite off. We caught 5 walleye (all shakers) and 1 smallmouth. But, it was a beautiful day and we had a great time enjoying the scenery, weather, and swimming. Water temps near Steamboat and over to Barker were 72-75. Water temps at mid lake were 70. All fish were caught in the mid lake area, and only after the wind began to blow considerably.
