Took a young family fishing and played guide today. Started out not too early because of the little guys managed a few Crappie at first and returned all of them then decided to set everyone up with jigs under slip bobbers and the search for perch began in earnst. But before we caught any perch our #1 little guy Andrew caught his first fish ever and it was a bull bluegill that was guarding a nest, put on a great show and really impressed Andrew as he kept saying every few minutes after that, "this is really fun". Then Ashley, Andrews mom started to hammer on the perch and didn't take her long to figure out how to get em out of their hide e holes. Fish and sun and fun was had by all even the usually grumpy ole guide. I am sure some good memories were made today and we came home with plenty of fish.. Klahowya!

Very cool and nice work. Is the campround open? I heard it might not open due to budget issues. I plan on making a trip up there
to Port Angeles and make several stops along the way.
Thanks for the report and kudos for getting the yougster over fish. Good times he'll always remember.

Sorry to say no the campground is not open, I really think it will be closed for the remainder of this season, in hopes of better days ahead. I had a big LMB bust me off there today, saw it twice, figure it was around 5=6# it was a smart fish, as it bolted for cover just as soon as it felt the set, kept me busy for a good while, I gotta wonder how many times it's gotten away like that??

Thats a bummer, hopefully they'll have it up and running next summer. The family and I are taking a daytrip to Leland this Sunday.
Were hoping to do some camping in the Olympics in August,so hopefully we'll be making more trips here. Its a gorgeous lake.
Sorry to hear about the bass that got away.
