Took a short trip to Lake Sixteen on Saturday morning and caught 15-20 small bass. The bite was pretty constant, but I did work a bit harder than last year...the water seems a bit cool yet. But this is a great place to take a kid, or a newby largemouth fisherman. The bass always seem to cooperate. I used a sliver/black Rapala and a Rainbow Rapala most odf the time. Every fish C&R'd carefully, and I took a quick photo of the largest one (1.5 lbs). It looked like a small, fat, spawner. I've never caught a big one here, but boy do they like to bite!

I would agree that this is a good lake for kids and beginners. It has served me as a great confidence lake. That fish in your picture is a lunker for sure at sixteen. My largest fish has been aprox 2 lb x 17" there, but the majority have been the little 1/2 to 3/4 lbers.

Thanks for the info bcalvert. I wasn't sure how big the bass actually got in that lake, but it sure is fun and somewhat easy to catch them there. Take care
