After we grew tired of Coffee Pot, I and my son decided to stop and try out Twin Lakes. I have driven past the entrance many times and this time we wanted to see what it was like.
I knew from maps on WL that the bottom lake was shallow, so we hit the top lake, along with about everyone else in Lincoln County it would seem. It is small enough that we fished the shore line about 1.5 times before we grew tired of it. I am sure there are a few good bass, but we caught, and released, maybe 4 or 5 between 12 and 15 inches with the rest below 6 inches.
We did see several people catch stalker trout, and a few small perch, but nothing to brag about. The trout seemed to be suspended at about 15 feet. The surface temperature was 72 at 1500 hours. The water is green like the water I use to see coming of our dairy barn floor, ugly, bad, but it is just a fine algae. I'll bet you could not see 2 feet into the water.
I doubt I'll drive from Spokane just to fish Twin, but If I get blown off Roosevelt some day it is not that far out of the way home - maybe.
