Clear skies, warm. Caught 7 cutthroat total all between 19-23in. Concentrating solely on the north end of the lake, we trolled at 1.5-1.8mph and caught 1 right out of the gate at 6am using the old standby 5 of diamonds spoon without the downrigger. After setting the downriggers at 30-55ft we caught one on a light green and silver flatfish. We hooked one on a light green spinner but did not get him to the boat.
We then went to a troll speed of 2.3-2.8mpg at depths of 40-75ft. 4 fish were caught on a lure I never used before. It had the erratic action of a needle fish or super duper. I am sorry I do not remember its name; I threw the package away. The action and the color (green) are the most important aspect.
I think we would have done better if we fished the lake on an new moon verses the full moon but you fish when you can :)
