Andy took Kevin Abel with his and the Kohler kids for a morning of fishing. They pounded the Bar and Minneapolis with flatfish at 1.5mph in depths of 125 to 180 feet deep. The kids had a grand time catching a pile of fish.

hey there Anton... I've actually been up here at Chelan since last Saturday. Picked up a downrigger for my boat to target Macks. Been fishing off of the points around the campsites on south side opposite Wapoto point. Been tracking fish on the bottom from 60' in the morning to 90' in late morning. Been trying to place my lure right over them and nothing is happening... Using a kwikfish recommended down at Kelly's and flasher. I am new at this type of fishing so any suggestions would be helpful... Maybe they aren't even Macks. Do I literally have to drag the bottom or are you within say 10' of the bottom. Hope to have a reply soon.

Thanks

We are fishing the Bar just below Wapato Point first thing in the morning. But, what's really happening is up by the Yacht Club. Depths of 135 to 175 feet have been best. We are catching them by fishing 1.2 to 1.6 mph within 5 to 10 feet of the bottom. Our lures of choice have been F7, U20 and T4 Flatfish in either Luminous Chartreuse and Purple Glow. The surprise has been that all our really big fish have come off those F7 flatfish on the outrigger rods. That's an itty bitty lure for a big fish to be interested in. See my post today from yesterdays fishing. Anton Jones of Darrell & Dad's Family Guide Service (cell: 509-961-5342)
