Well, it was nice to get back on the water after cruising Alaska for Sandy's retirement celebration. I'll get some backdated reports to show everyone how Andy did while I was gone. It was nice for the fish gods to give me such a kind welcome back. We made our obligatory 2 passes on the Bar from 6 to 7 AM and caught 3 decent fish. All between 4.5 and 6 pounds. They came in depths of 125 to 145 on T4 and F7 flatfish in purple glow and luminous chartreuse. Then, after checking in with Andy, we motored up to the Yacht Club. It was the kind of early summer mornings that you dream about. Our first pass up through the Narrows we picked up a 6, then tripled up with a 9lb 12 ounce fish a 4 pounder then the big fish of the day, a 17lb 9 ounce behemoth that kept us going in tiny circles for almost 30 minutes before she would come to the net. If you include the little kokanee that we brought in at the beginning of the flurry, it was a quad! Then we made the turn and came back down and picked up a 9lb 5 oz fish that fought big for it's weight. Then on our last pass uplake through the Narrows in the teeth of heavy wind, Fran Grace hooked another monster and after a 20 minute battle brought a 16lb 5 oz fish to the net. Thanks to Tommy and Fran Grace for coming out and sharing one of the finer mornings of fishing that I have had in recent memory. Interestingly enough 3 of the 4 big fish including both the teeners came on little F-7 Flatfish. We fished the narrows from 130' to 185' deep. Wow!
