Hiked up to Heather today, not a bad hike. The fishing was very good with either a fish, a hit, or a follow just about every cast for awhile. Best action was on the far side of the lake. I had good success with a Fish Creek Spinner and later tried a float with a Montana nymph 3 ft back. Nothing of great size (6-8") but fun none-the-less. Weather was low 60s, overcast (but still had some nice mountain views). Skeeters are out in force! This is a nice Alpine lake destination for anglers with limited expectations - and don't plan for solitude as it's 1 1/4 hrs from Seattle and an easy hike so you'll see lot's of people, especially on the weekends. Please catch and release this fragile fishery!
