Took some time off from the rivers to do some simple good ol trout fishing yesterday. Had a great time relaxing and enjoying the great fishing. Trolled spoons. Dick Nites and Needle fish. They worked fairly well. However we switched over to trolling about a two inch piece of night crawler with one or two small red beads above the worm and that was the real ticket. Both times I tried this combo it really produces fish. Keep the worm as strait as you can on the hook and troll very slow. The worm gives of a nice little spin and the red bead gives a little color plus looks like an egg. A single split shot was used for weight. Fish were at all depths in the water. We both limited and the trout are in brine waiting for the smoker. The fish were between 12-14 inches and one lost that was a hold over that was a good 18 inches. Water was holding at 65 degrees. Theres one down fall to this trip, our truck and another truck were broken into at the boat launch. The windows had been broken out.
