I planned to fish Clear Lake (Pierce) today but I had to take my son to the bus to get to work so I said I would just take him all the way and go to Ward Lake instead of Clear (Pierce). I was there from 10am-3pm. It was sunny with none of the clouds the weather man promised. I got 4 bites in that time. I hooked 3 to release 2 and kept one. Two were kokanee and one, a rainbow, that I got trolling a fly. I tried a lot of things to get the kokanee to bite but they just didn’t want to go with my plan for the day. The promised clouds started coming in about 1:30pm with the wind.
When thinking of the difference between Ward and Clear I have more hook ups at Clear with less fish to the boat. At Ward I only missed one fish. Oh well, there will be another day.
