Decided to hit loon this evening for some Kokanee, Smallmouth and Largemouth. Arrived at the public launch around 5:30 and headed over to the southwest end of the lake at the rocky point for some smallmouth, spent about 30 min there and only boated one dink. We decided to troll along that cove until we got into the shallows close to the old net pen. Nailed a couple using a pumpkin seed chatter bait, then switched to my old faithful 8" lizard and nailed this nice one that went close to 4lbs. Spent the rest of what daylight we had left in the lillies and caught mostly dinks, ran out of time for the Kok's. Saw quite a few old beds in the shallows with bluegill, crappie and small male Largemouths still guarding them. Water temp in the shallows was in the high 60's to low 70's in some spots and it appears the water level was a little lower since our last visit, it was a very nice evening of fishing.

Well, I did occasionally run my chatterbait on the top, I was wondering why you always ask ? Still waiting for your e-mail...

Nice fish! you have a tendency to kill any local lake. Where do you find 8" lizards around town? Seem to only find littler 4"-6" ones.

I have good and bad days just like any other fisherman. I buy my lizards online through Cabela's, they don't stock the 8" in the store. You may want to try Anglers Experience in Roundy's Kawasaki North off Hwy 2 accross from the YMCA may carry them.
