My nephew from Denver came to town so I thought we could try to catch a few silvers @ Bumping lake for his 10 year old, and my niece's 12 year old.
Started out cold & windy, but as the day progressed, it wasn't that bad. First pass by the "stump" on the west end produced a take that I knew right away it had to be a bull trout.
Westin fought the fish like a pro, a beautiful 4-5 pound fish came to the boat, and he was disappointed that we had to release it. I explained how they are protected, and their fun to fight if you hook one, and he was ok with that.
We did hook up with just a few small silvers, but it was slow catching for them. We had two other large fish on with one coming loose, & the other breaking 8# maxima ultra-green.
There had to have been a nick in the line for that to happen because the drag is always lenient to the fish.
I think we will try Rimrock next!
Have fun everyone, I think summer is just starting.

there is so many dang bull trout in bumping lake that eat all the silvers' eggs so they should lift the ban. Same with rimrock in the fall there is a ton of dollies in there.
