My son-in-law and I arrived early afternoon to set up camp and the rest of the family came up Sat. Access to Sherry is from the public launch on Gillette and one can work Heritage, Thomas, Gillette and Sherry from there. We primarily worked Sherry since it traditionally has produced the best results for us. Caught many small trout over the week-end and through Monday...mostly Rainbows but one Tiger and four Cuts. All the smaller catch was released and we kept fifteen destined for the smoker.
We troll and the combinations that were deadly this trip were Wedding Ring type lures I make tipped with rubber trout worms on about ten inches of leader behind a Seps Side-Kick or another dodger. We tried our stand-bys...WB's and Muddlers tipped with night crawlers or the rubber worms and were only mildly sucessful compared to the sets in the photo.
While it rained off and on, we had a good time and more than enough hook-ups to keep us out on the water even in the rain.
