The deep freeze and winter storms have made it difficult to get out. However, the fish don't care. The lower basin winter fishery of Lake Chelan just keeps perking along. Pull plugs within 10' of the bottom and catch some wonderful winter Mackinaw.
Rufus Woods Reservoir is in full swing now. We fish the lower end, right at the "dead line" of barrels above Chief Joseph Dam. Pull a baited fly or wedding ring combo behind a dodger or pop gear in the top 20 feet. Jumbo kokanee and fat triploided rainbows are the main quarry. Vary your speed and be patient. Some days you'll go hours without strikes, then limit the boat in an hour of fast and furious fishing.
We will be exhibiting at Sporstman's Shows the next 3 weekends (Tri-Cities, Puyallup and Yakima). Come see our booth!
