My Dad and I decided to give Lake McMurray another try. The weather forecast called for clearing skies and no rain. The first few hours of fishing did not produce any bites. We noticed people in a boat near us fishing with bobbers and what looked like chartreuse marshmallows. We moved about one hundred feet and into deeper water. I decided to put a bobber on and see if I could catch any fish near the surface. Sure enough, I got one on only to have it break my leader. After it seemed the surface bite was off, we switched back to fishing from the bottom. We caught 7 rainbows still fishing. We decided to do a little trolling before calling it a day. I managed to hook a nice, fat 14+ inch rainbow on an olive woolley bugger. All the rainbows we caught were between 13 and 14+ inches. Most of the fish we caught had signs of the parasite that shows up as the water gets warmer.
