Had a fun 2.5 hours on Lake Stevens today, only boated one fish but always good to get on the lake with the wife!
Didn't go out until 11:30, by noon caught a fat 11.5" Koke on the SE end at 24', was pretty slow otherwise! Sure was good on the ceaser salad we had for dinner tonight!
On the way in @ 2:00 right at the east bouy at the entry to the cove, I decided to release the down rigger which was only set at 13', decided to let my line drag behind as I pulled up the downrigger. Just as I was unclipping the downrigger ball my pole almost left the boat, WOW, it was one big hard fightin' fish, got it about 10' from the boat when it jumped and came off the hook, had to be at least 20"! (Guess I should have been fishin' at 2')?
Sounds like it may have been slow today, talked to a guy in another boat who said he only had 1 fish, also at 24'. As we were going out there where two guys coming in, they said it was slow and only had 1 fish.
Oh well, always fun to get out on the lake, can't wait to get back out!
