Thanx for the report and interesting success trolling for them. How big were the perch?

Wow, what a day at Dry lake! My Step Dad and I Tried something that I've never had any success with for spineys(Perch,Crappie,Bluegill,Bass). Trolling! We thought what the heck and did surprisingly well. We took a beetle spin lure and put a chartruese Jig on tipped with some worm and BAM, Started getting hits right away! To my surprise it was primarily Crappie and nicer Perch. A few of the Crappie were really nice 12"-13" fish. The weeds kept snagging since its not a very deep lake, so we put a 11/2" bobber about 2' above lure. This worked very well. I also put a small perch colored lipless crank bait on and also produced fish including my biggest crappie and one small LMB that I released. That started to slow down in production so I put a chartruese marabou jig on and BAM, my bobber went under and it was the catch of the day, a 11/2 pound LMB. My step dad also caught a couple of LMB. Together we make for some awesome fishing and lots of great memories, including some fun competition between the two of us. Looking forward to our next trip Big Dog! At some point we plan on hitting some other bodies of water, including our yearly Father Son fishing trip to O' Sullivan. This is a hoot because it includes my two step brothers and hopefully my brother in law. That should produce some tall fishing tails and probably a sun burn. Good luck everyone and get out and make some memories.
