Wow! While doing preliminary scouting in preparation for next week's derby at Lake Quinalt my wife and I each caught personal bests for large fish from this lake, this 5lb. 5 oz.Dolly Varden was caught in the afternoon on Saturday, my wife caught her largest cut yet,17 inches or so, really large for the resident cuts in this lake.Unfortunatly she did not want to stop for a photo. The winning cut in the derby rarely exceeds 18 inches but the sea-runs that come in the late summer run larger. One of the emplyees at the lodge said he caught a 9 lb. Dolly on Mother's day, I was happy to beat the 4 plus pounder I caught last fall.We caught six altogether on Sat. rain came in Sunday so we bailed and went home to dry out our gear. Tight Lines to all, Bob R

Chelanlaketrout.... I was thinking the same thing. Except those lakers have that bloated air bladder.

Those pink spots def. give these dollies their distinctive look, also catching these fish on ultra-light loomis rods with 6 lb. test lines is def. a kick, these fish can fight ! Hoping to work up to double digit fish! Thanks for comments, Bob and Melanie
