This was a long day, a beautiful day, yes, but long.
Fished Kapowsin hard, by myself in my littel boat. 3rd cast of the day caught a 12" LMB. 5th cast caught a 10"LMB. 5 hours later, I caught my next one, another dink. Crossed the lake and instantly caught a 1 pounder. Put on a swim bait for the deeper steeper sides that I encountered, and in about 20 minutes hooked my fish of the day, but, like the story goes, the big one always gets away. It had the looks of a 3 or 3 1/2 pounder. Had my boat about 40 feet from shore and it hit about 20 feet from boat. Got it to about 5 or 6 feet, preparing for the lip, and off he went.
Don't know the water temp. as I did not bring my port. depth finder because if I did, it would be smashed into a stump, no doubt, but I will say, there were quite a few boats on the lake taking advantage of the nice, almost sunny day. At one time I looked across the lake at some potential bass hunting grounds and there was a boat, fishing the shoreline, like every hundred yards.
Nice day, tough fishing, but not a loss.
