Finally got a chance to get back up to Dry lake Saturday and do some jigging for spineys. Wow what a day of fishing. No surprise though, I haven't been disappointed yet in that lake. I'm sure the Bass fishing is good there too, just don't know where to start and what to use.
The catch was a mixed bag of bluegill, perch, and crappie. Primarily bluegill though. Not anything huge but the larger bluegill going upwards of 8 to 9 inches, plenty big enough for some nice fillets.
We were using various jigs and small spoons like swedish pimples. Jig colors done the best were red with pearl and chartruese tipped with a little bit of worm. Also tipped them with live crickets but they didn't last very long on the hook. It didn't seem to matter to much on the colors because eventually all things tried produced decent. We put a bobber on just about two feet up above and cast right next to the tullies and bam fish on. Also cast towards the middle of the lake and caught fish but not as often.
It had been 20 years since my buddy had bought a licence so I wanted to reintroduce him back with some fast paced fishing. He had a blast and I gained another fishing partner. Sweet!!!
